| August 12, 2002, 6:10 PM CST by jayz2002 | | If so, how do you do it? Thanks. |
|
| August 12, 2002, 7:36 PM CST by khaid to jayz2002 | You take off the heatsink and fan from your cpu and place a GC disc on top of it. Then turn on your computer!
Presto! |
|
| August 12, 2002, 7:51 PM CST by Pichu to jayz2002 | | Go try it and see if it works. |
|
| August 12, 2002, 8:05 PM CST by CriTioN to jayz2002 | What you'll need:
1 permanent marker
blank CD's
GC disc
Here's how I copy them...I take the GC disc and flip it over. Now take the blank CD and flip it over. With the permanent marker, copy all data from GC disc to blank CD. Now all you have to do is put the copy into the GC and play. |
|

|
| October 14, 2002, 9:59 PM CST by CriTioN to pat777 | | pattripleseven, it's not a joke. Chipaku and Pichu do it the easy way, while I do it the hard way. They have mad skillz, me just mad. |

| October 21, 2002, 8:53 PM CST by 1dumbfucker | | Sorry I don't have a cool Pokemon icon next to my name but felt obligated since this is the 2nd time I've been screwed into finding this site (thanks google) to also waste my time like so many of you retards do. Feels pretty good actually. Maybe I could talk about blue lasers or how gamecubes spin (and therefore write) backwards and how it's impossible to copy their mini-dvd roms. Or how much cooler I'd be if I actually bought the games so the distributers would actually lower the prices (hmmm. The thousands of dollars I spent on PS1 and PS2 equipment didn't seem to help lower the prices. And last time I checked, when my kids scratched the crap outta the games, I didn't get a discount on my next purchase). OoPs. WaS I SupPoSeD tO be TyPiNg LiKE ThIS sO pEoPlE uNDerStaNd Me? |
|
| October 21, 2002, 9:32 PM CST by LordSockington to 1dumbfucker | Not all of us here have the IQ of a bean.
Although you do raise valid points about gaming prices, I pose another question;
Why not spend your money on a computer, rather than a console?
I personally would find a LAN game for more rewarding than a game of X Box.
Also, instead of being stuck playing one thing, you can browse the net when you don't want to play, etc.
The prices, well, that's just stupid.
I personally would not pay those outrageous prices for games of that caliber.
Just a few incoherent thoughts,

Is it worth wasting our time and money just to burn some of the good titles that we want to play on our gameCube? And, the mod chip voids the warranty of our gameCube systems. |

| November 18, 2002, 7:16 PM CST by cigar81 to Pichu | Actually You Dumb You Really Would Not Be Spending That Much. If You Can See The Web Page You Already Have A Computer So You Dont Need To Buy The Computer! And Most Computers Have A CDRW Drive With It So You Dont Need One .And A DVDRW Will Cost You AS Low Ass $300!
And 1 More Thing The Total Cost Is Not $1580.00 You Dumb . Its Only 1080 If You Dont Have All Of That. If You Look At The List Where It Says DVDRW $699.99 Thats How Much Mine Cost. Go Down 2 Lines Where It Says DVDRW's 499.99. Learn How To Read And Add You Dumb Retard |
|
| November 18, 2002, 7:37 PM CST by Agora to cigar81 | I think we all agree here that the "dumb retards" are those who use extreme ways to not pay for the hard work of game developpers, especially if they would normally have bought that said game.
I can understand people who just download simple emulators to play games for free. But going to such lengths and pay over a thousand bucks to pirate games is just lame. |

|
| November 18, 2002, 8:11 PM CST by Agora to cigar81 | I think you're just not seeing the big picture here. If a good percentage of the population was to start pirating games like this, nothing good would come out of it, the prices going higher is one thing that comes to mind...
Do what you want, I, on the other hand, will keep supporting the games I like with my money. |
|
| November 18, 2002, 9:19 PM CST by Chipaku to cigar81 | | it's not worth paying $3000 for a computer just to play GC games. I can get 30 GameCube games for that money. you're a dumb stupid retard. |

Being an Ignorant, I Would Like to Know What is the Real Purpose? Ahh... So, It Is Only $1080, but It's Still Too Much To Just Make These Crippled Medias That Can Only Be Played On System With Mod Chip. How about the Rental Fees (each Game Rental is More like $6/Game)? And Also Explain this Contradiction... umm I Mean this Suggestion: DVDRW $699.99 *Thats how much mines cost I've seen some
...
DVDRW's for $499.99
Why Would You Want to Recommend Buying two DVDRW's? I Don't See How They Will Help. |

Also, DVD-RW medias are irrelevant. mini 80mm DVD-Rs are much more expensive than regular 120mm DVD-Rs. And, how can I sell the copied games when normal gameCube system (without the mod chip) cannot even play these discs, dude? You're full of contradictions. |

And one more thing, GameCube discs are unreadable on my Pioneer DVR104 DVD-RW drive. For your information, there are blank mini DVD-Rs (3"=80mm) at 1.46GB, which are the same storage as a typical gameCube disc. Here's an example of the site that you can buy them:
http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/P-DVD-R-MINI.html
Why you're being so ignorant? You still have to clarify yourself when you treat everything as jokes. |

1. THere are no laws against discussing the coping of nintendo or any other companies game products. The idea that you could report anything to nintendo is a joke, and if any of u think they have any power to do anything about it if they wanted to your dumber than u look. Well pirates deserve everything they get, no respect for the
law. Enforcable sentence for even meditated pirating is 7 years time under section 7 (3) of the copyright act 1982. If this bitch really did do that he's going down. FACT have your number cigar boy!
2. Copy right laws apply to the unlawful reporduction of goods or ideas for the purpose of sale. there is absolutly nothing a company can do to prevent u from making copies of anything for personal arcive purposes |

First of all... Nintendo does NOT have a copyright to those DVD-Mini's... 2nd of all... How in the world would Nintendo have the power to take a Blank Media type off the market! THat is just completly rediculous. 3rd... Wow... completly rediculous :)... Some of us need to back up our disks... and by the way... NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE... if you can make it, you can un-make it... It's called "REVERSE ENGINEER"...
A quick comment on Cigar81's behalf, I don't know what he said in that post that was completely edited. But one thing, wow get off his ass. He apparently has no idea what the heck he's talking about! Why would you take him seriously!

| November 26, 2003, 5:40 AM CST by evilside_shadow | ok..ppl its not impossible to burn gc games. I recently bought dbz budokai 4 my gc and i wanted to know how i can create a backup in case it brakes or something, nintendo then had to tell me how to make backups because if you own any real retail gc games look in the instruction booklets and it will tell u that u r allowed to make copies for only backup uses. Anyways all you really need r some mini-dvd-r not minidvd-rw
and a dvd burner. If you don't believe me just go to nintendo.com and email them for yourself inquiring about game cube backups |
|
| November 26, 2003, 8:00 AM CST by Pichu | | Yes, you can make back up of your GameCube games on DVD-Rs, but the problem is that you can't use them in your GC. One way is to use your computer to read the disc and use a BBA (Broadband Adapter) [they're hard to get nowadays] to hook up between your gameCube and your PC. Then, you can run just about anything from your PC on your gameCube, allowing you to actually run the backups from your hard drive directly on the gameCube. This will allow you to run the games without any problems, except that they will be slower in loading speed. :-/ |
|
| November 26, 2003, 8:03 AM CST by Pichu | | To make backups, use your computer to read the data from the gameCube via the same BBA, so that you can make ISOs out of them. :) |

| November 26, 2003, 5:54 PM CST by sm284614 | | If you take the plastic top off your GC and burn games to a normal DVD-R, and change the gemacubes read laser interface to a more standard DVD format, you might get it to work. I assume though that there is also built-in software copy protection (headers and the like) which will stop you. GC emulation is a good long while away. |

|
| December 5, 2003, 9:32 AM CST by ED0UBLE to Pichu | | I hav the BBA, mostly from when I was playing PSO. Now I am eager to play that MArio Kart game via Warp Pipe to test it out. I have the software now, just need someone that also has a BBA and a copy of Mario Kart or 1080ş Avalanche so we can check out how this gimmick for tunneling works. |

| February 10, 2004, 8:32 PM CST by enveloop | So this is the situation. I don´t mind about copying the games. I bought them all. But now, someone tell me how can I copy the console??
For the smarties out there, I already tried the xerox. I used a black and white one with a gamecube of the same colors but still didn´t work. |
|
| February 11, 2004, 11:42 AM CST by Quaid to enveloop | | I used a HP Color Scanjet 1100, I was able to copy and make duplicates rather quickly. |
|
| February 11, 2004, 11:51 AM CST by phisix to enveloop | | I made a duplicates of my games by squinting my eyes together and it prejects another image of the Gamecube game. |
|
| February 17, 2004, 7:19 PM CST by spybart | | What I do is I memorize the code on the disk (The 010101001010...) Than I type it in the gamecube when it asks for a CD using the wireless controller |
|
| February 17, 2004, 11:13 PM CST by thespork2000 to spybart | | to anyone: hey do you think it might be possible (in the far future prolly) to rip gc games? if we somehow managed to figure out how to make th computer read the gc disc and figured out all that info, maybe you could rip a game (take some unimportant data out of the game so its a smaller file size) then if all that happened and worked and was cool... you could burn the smaller image to a mini dvd. just a thought, dont kill me :/ |
|
| February 17, 2004, 11:34 PM CST by guicho80 to thespork2000 | | Im afraid we'll have to kill you now. Better get your earthly affairs in order. |
|
| April 25, 2004, 9:54 AM CST by zudo | | You know, if you can find a well enough programmer, he could make a driver for a cd-rom that makes it spin backwards. then after you got all the code you just have to break it, or burn it backwards. One more thing you cold probably read the cd normally and then reverse the file. How you reverse the file is your problem not mine. |
|
| May 2, 2004, 8:36 PM CST by gotenkszx83 | | Ok, Once and for all, the reason you can't copy a gamecube game with a DVD burner is not because the game disc spins backwards, because it doesn't. (if you don't believe me the put a game in your GC and turn it on then simply push the eject button, notice the disc spins clockwise, the way every normal disc does). And true it is written on a DVD-R(1.4GB) disc, but a standard DVD operates at the iso9660 and or iso/udf format and the GC disc is in a format foreign to that of normal computer language, so that is why it won't read correctly in the drive. in conclusion the only way to even read a GC disc is with the necessary software to tell the computer what the data being read means.(A udf reader perhaps) |

|
| May 2, 2005, 8:45 PM CST by dudeyougotadell | Because Gamecube disks are not mini cds! They're mini DVDs. And they're recorded in a special Gamecube format, so you can not rip it. And, i believe that that guy's right, it spins backwards.
Another way, go to gamestop, and burn 1 for 50 dollars. |

The PVC Flamethrower is still my method of choice, though. |

| October 15, 2005, 4:59 PM CST by Cray_x1 | How do you think Nintendo makes the disks? Hmm maybe by BURNING them? eh? It's just that we don't have the hardware to do it...
What a great thread |

| November 17, 2008, 11:00 PM CST by ninjaman | so it's been over 2 years since anyone posted on this thread.... sweet.
Yeah, i've been trying to get the game Zoids VS III for gamecube, but it's only made in Japan. In order to get it, i have to pay way too much money to buy it USED on eBay. On top of that, I have to buy a freeloader just to make the Japanese game compatible with my American console. So i figured screw it all, I'm downloading the game and the freeloader as torrents. But I don't know if i can burn the file to a miniDVD-R and it will work or if I can simply burn it to a regular DVD-R and play it through my Wii. Any help? |
